What Is A Promotion
 
The word promotion has a meaning of bringing to
the front or making known. In Affiliate Marketing it's
meaning lays in the realms of Advertising. With
Advertising most people naturally think of products
and really while that is correct, the product can also
be the Store or place that houses additional products.
 
To further highlight what we mean is to an
advertising agency the product for them could quite
well be the actual company housing many products of
different Varieties.  For example how often do we see
a bank being advertised or WallMart. After the
company itself has been promoted along with features,
advantages and benefits as to why you should shop or
save there, the products they house take a second
position and quite possibly a product may be mentioned
in a promotion like that but only as a reason to visit the
center or business an agency may be promoting.
 
If you check out the top banner on the left hand side as
another example. Are we selling a large bunch of
Adobies?? No, of course not but we are selling the
thought that the company Adobe is worth Visiting simply
by reminding you of there name.
 
Most people know who Adobe is but for those who do
not let us add to it. Adobe is a multinational company
who sell high quality software dealing primarily for the
needs of other companies or individual business owners
who spend time building there own reputation in the
marketing field. Products like Photoshop allows the user
to develop there own high quality graphics for Websites
banners and anything that requires a picture created or
improved for whatever reason you choose. More than
that Photoshop is also ideal for photographers who may
want to repair a fault or two in the pictures they have
taken. They can also take very old photographs that
have been damaged through time and make them look
like new even add Text or color to them.
 
Photoshop is found exclusively at Adobe and ask any
top marketer and you will find they recommend Adobe
products for everything. Just go back up to the top of
the page click on the Adobe banner on the left and check
out Photoshop but while you are there see many of the
other products they sell, including Acrobat,
Dreamweaver, ColdFussion and Flash Platform, you will
be pleased you did. Adobe! The Top Choice of Most
Professional Marketers. Remember, only at Adobe!
 
That is how an advertising agency may Promote a
highlighting the company first tends to help others
remember what they do.
 
Promotion and Branding
 
Branding, as with livestock denotes ownership. If I were
to say Mickey Mouse many would think of Disneyland or
would think Adolf Hitler. Both of those examples are a
form of branding that is when a name is mentioned that
name conjures up something associated with it. Branding
can be for good or bad as represented above. People and
places are remembered only by being promoted into the
face of others. Again, Adobe...Software and you will think
of many others.
 
The first step in promoting is..."Promote You First"  Give
people a GOOD reason to remember who you are. Why
should I get that product from you when I know Three
other people sell it? Like Walt Disney, when I was younger
in Australia I would hear Walt Disney and straight away
think of DisneyLand. Great Branding and they paid and still
pay millions branding themselves. if a big company like
them spend that much getting known and making sure they
are not forgotten, how much more should we spend the
bulk of our time and effort making sure we promote
ourselves constantly.
 
Randy Fountain and myself Ray Casey are always looking
for easy ways to build income and assist others that's why
many have nicknamed us the easy marketers. The truth to
that I take it easy because I tend to be a little lazy. It
reflects a little in the Aussie "she'll be right mate" attitude
we have!! No Rush she'll be right mate".
 
In getting yourself known on the Internet you can't be like
that and I must say Randy and I spend a lot of time trying
to get known. Everyone who works online have one product
they must spend the bulk of there time promoting. That
Product is YOU!! The best branding method of all is through
list building and email marketing. Be proud to have your
